Houthakker beer takes its name from its creator, Piet Houthakker, a Flemish woodcutter for generations, who became a brewer when the forests of Houtland ran out. Wherever there was a forest, he set up his hop yards and grew his hops on the wood reserves. He has made his beer in his own image, with heart, generosity, roundness… it’s his roots that express themselves!
